Today we are anchored at Koh Lanta with Lothlorien, and have just sailed past more resorts – and very flash looking ones - than you could poke a pointy stick at. The number of tourist facilities here is simply amazing, and tourism is obviously a major industry for Thailand. We’ve stopped here mainly to get to a bank, as we’ve run out of the few Thai baht we had, and to get some fresh vegetables. Lex came back with Thai sim cards for our phones and a prepaid card for the Internet which we’ve realised we can access from right here on the boat.
Koh Phi Phi is our next stop, tomorrow or the next day, where we’ll catch up with the Gwendolyn again, and then on to Phuket by New Year’s Eve.
Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful New Year from Malaika!
